About Neurotoxins
What it is
Neurotoxins are an FDA approved treatment that have been used medically since the 1970s. They are safe, highly effective and require zero downtime. When carefully injected, Botox, Xeomin and Dysport give skin a smooth and renewed appearance that looks natural.
How it works
Botox, Dysport, Xeomin and other neurotoxins target the underlying causes of wrinkles and frown lines. The neurotoxin blocks the signal from the nerves that make the muscle move. This allows the wrinkles to soften and prevents new wrinkles from forming.
What to expect
Treatment only takes 10-15 minutes, and a few tiny injections. You can be in and out on your lunch break! Noticeable results should appear 5-7 days after treatment, with full results visible 14 days post treatment.

About filler
What it is
Fillers are cosmetic treatments involving injectable gels made from substances like hyaluronic acid or calcium hydroxylapatite. These fillers are used to add volume, smooth wrinkles, and enhance facial contours, providing a rejuvenated and youthful appearance.
How it works
Dermal fillers work by injecting the gel-like substance into targeted areas of the face. Once injected, the filler adds volume to the treated area, filling in wrinkles, creases, and lines. Some fillers also stimulate collagen production, further enhancing skin elasticity and firmness over time.
What to expect
During a dermal filler treatment session, clients can expect a relatively quick and minimally invasive procedure. The treatment area may be numbed with a topical anesthetic beforehand to minimize discomfort. The filler is then injected using a fine needle or cannula, with results visible immediately. Mild swelling or bruising may occur initially but typically resolves within a few days, leaving behind natural-looking and long-lasting results.

About Skinvive
What it is
SkinVive’s key ingredient is hyaluronic acid (HA), which is the primary ingredient in most facial fillers. However, SkinVive is the first and only FDA-approved HA delivered in microdroplets. This means it can be effectively injected intradermally — as in less deep than traditional fillers — to smooth the skin. It promotes moisture, combats environmental stressors, and provides a healthy, supple texture. SkinVive promotes moisture, combats environmental stressors, and provides a healthy, supple texture.
How it works
This treatment works by combining expertise in dermal fillers and advanced skincare techniques to deliver comprehensive solutions for rejuvenating and enhancing the skin's appearance. The formula includes a unique blend of antioxidants, amino acids, and minerals. This cocktail works synergistically to protect the skin from harmful external factors like pollution and UV rays. By addressing the root causes of skin aging and not just the symptoms, Juvéderm Skinvive provides a comprehensive solution to a variety of skin concerns.
What to expect
Once cleansed, your injector will ease microdroplets of Skinvive in an even, dotted pattern across the cheeks and/or neck. These sessions may leave you feeling “poked,” but the effects will be worthwhile for months to come. Within days, the microdroplets soften into the skin and the benefits of integrated HA can be seen. Avoiding exercise or other strenuous activities is usually recommended for the first 24 hours following the procedure.
FAQ
-
Not really - it feels like a pinch! The needle is small, thin, and it goes by quickly to decrease the possibility of pain. No numbing agents are needed.
-
There’s virtually zero downtime with these treatments. Neurotoxins are often referred to as a “lunchtime procedure,” since most patients return directly to work or normal activity immediately. Some redness and swelling may occur at the injection sites, but it usually subsides within a few hours. Very rarely, patients may experience minor bruising.
-
The frequency of filler treatments varies depending on individual factors such as metabolism, lifestyle, and the specific filler used. Typically, filler treatments last between 6 months to 2 years. Factors such as the area treated and the type of filler used can influence how long the results last. Your aesthetic nurse can advise you on the best treatment schedule based on your needs and desired outcomes.
-
While Botox and Dysport are both injectables (specifically, botulinum toxin injections) used to treat and prevent wrinkles, their chemical compositions are slightly different which can make one more effective than the other at specific injection sites. We recommend talking to our nurse injector to understand which product is the best fit for you!
-
Neurotoxin injections are very common, low risk procedures. Headache, minor bruising or swelling at the injection site are the most common but still rare side effects. As with any treatment, there are always risks which your nurse injector will walk you through prior to treatment.
-
The amount of filler used varies depending on several factors, including the area being treated, the desired outcome, and the type of filler being used. In general, filler is measured in syringes, with each syringe containing a specific volume of filler (commonly 1 mL). The amount needed can range from a fraction of a syringe for minor touch-ups to several syringes for larger areas or more significant volume restoration. Your aesthetic nurse will assess your needs during a consultation and recommend the appropriate amount of filler to achieve your desired results.
